UK/NZ Nanny agency placing Nannies in London and the UK

Parents

Sue offers a bespoke and friendly service, personally dealing with all family and nanny enquiries.  With FREE registration, the only fee you will pay us is when we find the right nanny for your family.

Please note the Agency is a non VAT entity below the VAT registration level.

With offices in both New Zealand and London for the past 14 years, many of our nannies have tended to be Kiwis, either recruited through our relationships with nanny colleges, such as Ashton Warner Nanny Academy in Auckland, https://nannyacademy.ac.nz/ or through referrals from family and friends on the back of our reputation for providing nannies with help and support throughout their placements.

However, we appreciate it is vital that you find the right person to care for your children regardless of their nationality and encourage applications from all candidates who can provide us with full paperwork – verifiable childcare references, qualifications such as first aid, police checks as well as proof that they have the legal right to work in the UK.

We actively look for people who have ‘can do’ positive attitudes when searching for nannies and work hard to match our candidates to the right roles based on their experience and the needs of each family.                  Over the years we have built great relationships with many families and take pride in the fact we are the first port of call when their childcare requirements change or their nanny moves on and they need to hire a new person to care for their children.                                                                      Chemistry and stability are vital to any nanny & employer relationship and we encourage open communication and feedback between both parties on a regular basis.

At any one time, our available candidates may be in the UK to meet face to face or getting ready to move here and applying for visas.  We are happy to arrange for you to chat to our nannies over the telephone, via Facetime or Skype initially if you prefer and can link you up directly with them, so you can organise convenient times to speak, working around time differences if applicable.

When you have made your final decision, we can assist you with drawing up a contract, give you advice on payroll and help you in any way you may need us to.  We remain in touch with families through placements offering as little or as much support as is required and have a reputation for offering a very personal service, with most of our families coming to us through referrals or returning to us when they need to hire new nannies.

To register your interest, find out who we currently have available for you to consider for your role or simply for more information please do not hesitate to fill in our Parent application or contact our London office  – sue@oneworldnannies.com

Vetting Process

We provide verbally verified references and suggest families also speak to referees.  Your position may have specific requirements and if so, it is especially important for you to talk to referees directly to obtain their feedback as to the suitability of the nanny you may be looking to hire.        When introducing candidates, we will provide copies of the written references we have obtained and information covering the additional areas of our vetting process.

We do not solely rely on a UK DBS checks as many of the nannies on our books may have only recently arrived in the UK so we ask for copies of police checks from their home countries too.

For information on the UK DBS service contact www.gov.uk/government/organisations/disclosure-and-barring-service   We can arrange an enhanced UK DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check should you require it for our new arrivals once they get here and recommend that our candidates all sign up to the DBS status update option so their certificates remain up to date at all times.

Please note, if you are looking for your nanny to become Ofsted registered, this enhanced DBS together with status update is part of their Ofsted Registration.

Fill in the Parent application form and we will contact you shortly to discuss your needs in further detail.

Contracts, Taxation & Pensions.

It is the responsibility of a nanny employer to have a contract in place on day one of employment as well as to pay their nanny’s tax and national insurance.                                                                                                                  In the UK there is a system set up by the Inland Revenue to make deductions for this easy and for more information we suggest you contact a specialist company like www.nannytax.co.uk
It is against the law for an employer not to hold Employer’s Liability Insurance, and you can be fined very heavily for each day that you fail to do so.

In addition, by law, nanny employers must provide a pension for their qualifying employees. Your nanny, you as the employer and the government will contribute to your nanny’s pension if your nanny chooses to opt into the scheme and this can be managed in line with your nanny’s salary payments which should be agreed at a gross rate https://www.nannytax.co.uk/what-we-do/free-tools-services/salary-calculator

Nanny Insurance

We recommend all our nannies take out Nanny Insurance – Public Liability Insurance with a minimum of £1 million cover – and are happy to point nannies in the right direction to help them organise this.

Our Families Recommend Us!

The most wonderful experience

We had the most wonderful experience with One World Nannies, and our amazing nanny A. With Sue’s expert support, we went from feeling nervous and unsure about childcare to confident and happy.
A herself has such a talent with young children – the perfect combination of gentle and fun plus enormous patience – it was amazing to see our daughter’s confidence grow in her care. We miss her and will be forever grateful!

It has been wonderful to have Sue’s guidance through the years

Sue at One World Nannies has been so supportive and a font of helpful information. Once all of the contracts were signed and our nanny started, Sue has been a constant. Always available if I had questions about how to sort out holidays, contracts or tax when my work situation changed and therefore conversations were needed.
Sue was always there on the other end of the phone to give advice, support and help. It has been wonderful to have Sue’s guidance through the years and I have recommended her and her agency to lots of friends. Thank you to Sue and One World Nannies.
